Blank screens - Not sure what to do now
#1
I bought and installed the program last night and it was working with a few different aircraft perfectly. I was excited.

This morning all my screens are blank on those same aircraft. The only thing that I tried to do this morning was to copy some of the mods for the default aircraft from the TDS website into the community folder.

I've read the forum and discord also to try some things and to verify that the files were installed and in the right location. I tried a re-install and that didnt work either. After trying this all day I'm officially stuck. Are there any suggestions on how to troubleshoot? Thank you!!!

Hello,

We are sorry to hear of the issues that you are experiencing, we are here to help.

Let's try this: with MSFS closed, please start the TDS GTNXi Pro from the desktop shortcut and click on the GTN750Xi button, does the screen light up?
If the screen does not light up, then please send us an email with the antivirus used as well as the log file from My Documents: TDSGTNXiExeLog.txt

support@tdssim.com

Not to worry, we will get this solved so you can fully enjoy the TDS GTNXi Pro.

Yes both the 750 and 650 start up and are working when I launch them from the desktop shortcut.

After I did this I ran MSFS2024 and looked at the TDSGTNXiexelog.txt and now theres an error on the log file. Theres no error when running from the desktop shortcut.

Hello,

Do you have the WASM gauge inside the MSFS 2024 Community folder: "tds-gtnxi-gauge" ?

Can you please check the MSFS 2024 My Library/Content Manager for the TDS GTNXi VC Integration gauge and make sure that it is enabled (sometimes the gauge becomes disabled).
Please provide us with a screenshot.

Yes the WASM gauge is in the community folder and it says installed in My Library.

I also attached the TDSGTNExeLog with the error that I saw listed. I saw that someone else on Discord had a similar issue but didn't see the resolution for them.

Thank you, which antivirus are you using?

Norton 360. The TDS is the only program that I have in my app permissions in Norton. I tried to remove them but then the next time running the TDS desktop app they were blocked again asking to allow or deny (Ransomware protection).

I also experimented with launching the desktop app before launching MSFS24. The screens worked however because I think there were now two instances of the program running the 750 screen was flickering but the 650 screen was ok. Then after a few mins both screens froze.

Thank you, this is the clear case of Norton interfering. The fix is simple, this is what a customer wrote:

"goto security, then goto advanced security, click antivirus, and it brings you to this screenshot where you select the exclusions tab and add the path"
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\GTI\Production\GTI__GTN_Xi__20_42\app-20.42.2\bin\GTN_Simulator.exe
