Hi Friend.
My last two full flights with the TDS GTNXi 750 encountered the GPS just freezing after about 30 minutes of flying time. All in MSFS2024 using the latest version of the GTNXi (but the next-to-last version of the Trainer). In each case, the critical moment was in the middle of a leg and I did not notice the event until a little later when I saw the screen frozen from a few minutes before. The two aircraft were the Carenado Bonanza F33A and the Sim Works Studios PC-12. And these two flights occurred after the release of SU2. In the first case, I simply finished the flight (perhaps two hours more) but the GPS remained frozen in the middle of a leg when it had stopped. In the second case, I simply stopped the flight.
Please be sure that I have used the TDS GTNXi very often since it was released for MSFS2020 – it is my most commonly used GPS configuration and I use it whenever appropriate. Maybe 400ish full flights. The only thing different for these last two failures after years of complete success…was the Microsoft release of SU2 on May 15, 2025. (During the last ten days I have used the GTNXi a number of times for shorter flights in these two and other aircraft with no such failures.) And knowing whether the SU2 release is important-or-not is beyond my ability.
A friend pointed out that this “sounds like” a WASM crash…but I do not know how to assess that observation. Is there anything that I can do to help debug these failures?
Thanks,
Michael MacKuen
